1. 📌 About Book Kar
Book Kar is a digital carpooling marketplace that connects private car owners (Drivers) with passengers (Riders) traveling on similar routes. Book Kar is a technology platform and does not provide transportation services directly.
- Book Kar does not employ drivers or own any vehicles.
- Rides are offered by private individuals on a cost-sharing, non-commercial basis.
- Book Kar is not responsible for the conduct of drivers or riders during trips.
2. 👤 Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account.
- Drivers must hold a valid Indian driving license and vehicle registration.
- You must provide accurate, truthful information during registration.
- One account per person — creating multiple accounts is prohibited.
3. 🧑💼 Rider Rules
- Book seats only when you genuinely intend to travel.
- Be at the agreed pickup point at the agreed time. Drivers are not obligated to wait more than 15 minutes.
- Pay the agreed fare honestly — do not attempt to pay less than the listed price.
- Do not engage in harassment, abuse, or discriminatory behavior toward drivers or co-passengers.
- Respect the driver's vehicle — you are liable for any damage you cause.
- No smoking, alcohol consumption, or carrying prohibited substances during rides.
4. 🚗 Driver Rules
- Only offer rides in vehicles you are legally authorized to drive.
- Prices charged must be on a cost-sharing basis — you may not profit from carpooling.
- Do not offer more seats than the vehicle's legal passenger capacity minus the driver.
- Maintain your vehicle in roadworthy condition. Keep valid insurance and registration at all times.
- Do not use Book Kar for commercial taxi or cab service operations.
- Cancellations must be done with sufficient notice. Frequent cancellations will result in account suspension.
- Do not request payment outside the Book Kar platform to avoid our fee structure.
5. 💰 Payments and Refunds
- Book Kar currently charges zero platform commission on rides (subject to change with 30 days' notice).
- Online payments are processed by third-party payment gateways. Book Kar is not responsible for payment gateway failures.
- Refunds for cancellations are processed within 5–7 business days to the original payment method.
- In case of disputes, Book Kar's decision on refund eligibility is final.
6. ⭐ Ratings and Reviews
- After each completed trip, both riders and drivers may rate and review each other.
- Ratings must be honest and based on actual experience.
- Fake, manipulated, or retaliatory reviews are prohibited and will be removed.
- Accounts with consistently low ratings (below 3.5) may be suspended pending review.
7. 🚫 Prohibited Activities
- Using Book Kar for commercial transportation services.
- Impersonating another user or providing false identity information.
- Harassment, abuse, threats, or discrimination of any kind.
- Transporting illegal goods, weapons, or prohibited substances.
- Attempting to hack, scrape, or reverse-engineer the platform.
- Creating fake listings, fraudulent bookings, or manipulating the rating system.
8. 🔒 Liability Limitation
Book Kar is a marketplace platform and is not responsible for:
- Accidents, injuries, or damages that occur during rides.
- Driver or rider behavior before, during, or after a trip.
- Loss or damage to luggage or personal belongings.
- Delays, route changes, or trip cancellations by drivers.
Users are encouraged to carry personal travel insurance for inter-city journeys.
9. 🔄 Account Suspension and Termination
- Book Kar reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
- Serious violations (fraud, assault, illegal activity) result in immediate permanent ban.
- Users may appeal suspensions by contacting support@bookkar.in within 14 days.
10. ⚖️ Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in [City], India. Disputes may first be resolved through our internal arbitration process.
